Shin splints are a familiar condition for most people who do a lot of exercise, especially when they do plenty of running or other activities that put stress through the legs. Our shin splint recovery bundle contains everything you need to quickly recover from a bout of shin splints. Each bundle contains 2 x Physicool size B bandages and 1x 500ml coolant bottle.
Promotes healing – By reducing swelling our bandages promote blood flow around the injury site helping to speed up recovery.
360 degree conformity – The bandage conforms to the contours of your body promoting all-round cooling and pain reduction without inhibiting movement.
No refrigeration – Our cooling bandages provide instant cooling at room temperature, which means you can benefit from it anytime, any place.
Easy to apply – The bandage can be applied one-handed and fastened using the attached Velcro strap.
Constant use – Whereas ice has to be applied in a 20 minute on, 20 minute off cycle, our bandages can be left on the body and recharged by spraying additional coolant directly onto them. This means you can have constant cooling and pain relief.
Reusable – Our bandages are 100% cotton and washable. All you have to do is soak them in extra coolant to carry on using them.
Although rowing is a low impact sport it does put your muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints through a repetitive cycle of motion, so it can cause overuse injuries and even more serious issues if your form is poor. Because knee injuries from rowing are generally overuse injuries you’ll find you get some of the following symptoms:
Pain in the knee which gets worse when you move it
Difficulty moving the knee
Swelling around the knee
If you suffer sudden intense pain and then have difficulty moving the knee you may have suffered a tear to a tendon or muscle. It’s important to stop exercise as soon as you can to ensure the knee doesn’t get further damaged and seek medical advice.
Applying our bandages is simple. Just follow these steps:
Remove the bandage from its packet
Squeeze out any excess coolant back into the packet, this can be used to recharge the bandage later
Apply like a standard bandage, ensuring coverage of the injury site and wrapping as tightly as needed to get adequate compression
Fasten in place using the velcro strap
After two to three hours the coolant will evaporate. If you require further cooling you will need to apply coolant to the bandage directly, or place the bandage back in its packet, cover with coolant, and allow the bandage to reabsorb the coolant.
